The one and only “CHOCOLATE BOMB”
Sub Rosa Bakery, Church Hill’s treasured Wood Fired Bakery, reopened on Saturday! Come One – Come All!
After their fire last April they are now up and running ……..you can now get the best chocolate croissant you have EVER tasted. I had never been to this adorable and delicious bakery before Saturday. I met the owners at yoga while they were in the process of rebuilding after the fire. I had heard about their croissants but had never experienced them myself. OH MY GOODNESS! You MUST go.
I suggest eating there because it is so quaint. The people working in there and eating are all so friendly. Grab a latte or coffee, choose your baked good and sit down and enjoy the moment. If you eat in, your “Chocolate Bomb” will come in this pot like the picture above. Does that not look delicious?????
I had to start with the Chocolate Bomb because it was just the best ever. But all of their baked items are delicious. The owners are from Turkey and are so friendly. You just don’t find many wonderful bakeries like this one.
Here is one of the owners putting the final touches on the Chocolate Bombs……YUM!
On their website this is what they have to say about their ingredients:
“We are an open secret. Everything we bake comes from our wood fired masonry oven. Whenever possible we use organic fruits & vegetables grown on Virginia soil. We use organic flour and sugar. The wheat, corn, & rye that we freshly stone-mill ourselves is also organic and we strive to use locally grown heirloom varieties. Our milk, cream, and free-range eggs come from Pennsylvania and are hormone free. Our coffee beans go beyond the organic standard, having been thoughtfully sourced by Lamplighter Roasting Co.”
Here is their menu:
Soon they will be expanding into Soup, Sandwiches and Wine. For all you Richmonders out there…….you must go.
Here are a few more pictures I took on Saturday. I look forward to their success and expanded menu. It is so quaint…..love local places like this!
Cheers to my yoga friends and the best bakery in town! Like them on Facebook here and keep updated with everything they have to offer. I will be back!
